Noted mid-Missouri singer/songwriter Robert Dyer , 67, died at his home on April 11, just two days before the annual Boonville Missouri Big Muddy Folk Festival that he helped found along with musicians Cathy Barton and Dave Para. Bob was a modern Renaissance man with wide-ranging interests of author, teacher, historian, poet, filmmaker, and furniture maker, but he was best known as a singer/songwriter. Various musicians have recorded his songs, such as Paul and Win Grace, Cathy and Dave, Harmony and Gordon Bok, Ann Muir and Ed Trickett. Bob’s legacy was recognized statewide, but his splendid company will be missed most by his many friends in central Missouri. Info: Dave and Cathy at www.bartonpara.com.
